a Lovely Day

It was a lovely day, the sun was shining, and Angie and I were off on a weekend trip to Shrewsbury, dog-showing. I decided to let Angie navigate, which is something I normally do as she can get lost in her own house! Still, what the heck! I wasn't in a hurry, I had no PMT, and I felt good!

We managed to arrive at our hotel with no major problems, whereupon we were greeted by our hosts with copious cups of tea, and enough home-made cake to feed an army.

Having been fed and watered we went up to our quarters and made plans for the following day. Although the night was still young - we are not! So, as we had a busy time ahead, we had an early night. Daybreak brought us another bright day, and after a sumptuous feast for breakfast, we headed for the showground.

The venue was quite roomy, so we picked our spot, set up camp and had an enjoyable day watching the judging and chatting to friends. In the evening, a buffet and disco was being held, so after the show we all went back to our respective hotels, washed and changed, and put on our glad rags.

As Angie had volunteered to drive (Bless her!) I allowed myself to relax with copious amounts of wine. The buffet was prepared and we all tucked in to a delicious selection of hot and cold foods, and after we had eaten our fill - dancing commenced and a great time was had by all.

All too soon, the evening came to an end, so we all trudged back home to sleep off the night's frivolities.

On the second day, we set off early with hangover raging and Disprin at the ready! As I was feeling fragile - I let Angie do all the organising and I just sat down and watched the day's judging. By the end of the afternoon the night before had caught up with me - so having said our goodbyes - we headed for home.

Although we, and 'Ossie' were all tired, we both agreed that it was a fabulous weekend and would certainly recommend it to anyone. If another event is planned next year - just bring plenty of pain killers!
